A must-visit distillery in the heart of Aberdeenshire in Scotland!
I’VE FINALLY FOUND A WHISKY I TRULY LOVE! I’ll tell you which one at the end of this 👇 but first, a little bit about Fettercairn Distillery!
Located in the humble town of Fettercairn is Fettercairn Distillery. We visited recently to learn about the history, innovations and ethos of this landmark, alongside the future goals and what they plan to bring to the 🥃 world!
When it comes to whisky, every distiller has their own flavours and traits that make em unique in the market. So it was awesome to learn about the Fettercairn Distillery transformations and processes too!
One of the coolest things about Fettercairn Distillery is the invention of the cooling ring on their pot stills which imitate TALL stills but within the confines of their slightly shorter warehouses.
After wandering about the estate and having a nosey at the still room, we of course had a tasting of the different 🥃 they had to offer.
I love their entry-level summery and fruity 12 year old which imo is perfect for those wanting to get into 🥃 for the first time! And a heightened more mature version of that is the 22 year old which is a little bit smokier but not like the peaty ones from Islay, more like a mezcal!
If you ever get the chance, go and visit Fettercairn Distillery, it’s so worth it!
