The tours at Kitchen Coos and Ewes range from £11-£42 per person and offer different activities which can perfectly fit into your travel itinerary depending on what you and your interests. During our visit, we chose the Cream Tea Tour:
- Price: £35 per person
- Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes
- Itinerary: A longer tour, where you'll start off by meeting some of the record-breaking flock of Beltex sheep, before getting in among the cattle on the hill. Return to the farm for a sheepdog demonstration then enjoy a sumptuous cream tea in the Auld Byre.

Our experience
For this tour, you're escorted onto a safari truck with other guests which the head farmers use to transport us visitors to visit the cows frolicking on the hills. The safari itself was very family-friendly, with a lot of information and stories around agriculture, the techniques of farming and herding animals, and how the highland cows contribute to the ecosystem of the area.
You learn a lot about the personalities of each cows, about the genetics and generations of each breed, and even about the pecking order of the group. The farmers are knowledgable, friendly and are very open to answering any questions you might have.
Another very interesting experience was witnessing the sheepdog demonstration where the farmers' border collie demonstrates how they herd sheep. If you're a city person like I am, you'd be ooing and ahh-ing constantly at this!

End the end of the tour, we were dropped off at the main farm where we headed to the barn to have our afternoon tea Cooked and prepared locally at the farmhouse, each dish was fresh, delicious and made for a great way to end the tour. They also have a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs to take home, including homeware with photos of the highland cows, keychains, t-shirts and so much more.
